MONICO is an extension of the TUNNELING Research Project, which focuses on the ability of real time structural condition assessment of the tunnel lining after a strong earthquake event. For this purpose, an improved type of fiber optic sensor is used, permitting the time history of the strains developed during the earthquake motion to be recorded.<\/p>\n

The specific task of our company was to prepare the theoretical methodology and corresponding software for the creation of the moment-curvature<\/strong> diagram of the cyclic loading imposed on the critical cross-sections of the lining. An innovative form of the Parc-Ang damage criterion is established, permitting the exact automatic estimation of the damage degree at each one critical cross-section according to the Moment-Curvature diagram and the overall degree of stability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
